Beatriz E. Gomez-Klein

Beatriz E. Gomez-Klein, of Cedar Grove, N.J. passed away on Tuesday, October 7, 2025 at Mountainside Hospital in Glenridge, N.J. with loving family by her side.
Born in Santiago de Cuba, Cuba, to the late Roberto Gomez and Maria del Carmen Barrueco. She exiled to the United States in 1962, and was a longtime resident of Allendale, of North Caldwell, and more recently of Cedar Grove. She graduated cum laude with a double major in sociology and theology from Caldwell University. She continued to pursue higher degrees, such as an MA in Education and Rehabilitation Counseling, and an MSW. She was a Psychotherapist with UMDNJ in Newark, N.J. for twenty-five years, and in private practice in Caldwell for over twenty years. She received a Visiting Nurse Association Achievement Award in 1996, the University Health Care Excellence Award in 1999, and the prestigious Caldwell University Veritas Award in 2004 for her lifetime achievements. Beatriz loved spending time with family and friends, good food, cruising, and supporting her beloved Caldwell University.
Beloved wife of the late Arthur F. Klein, she is survived by her caring stepchildren Christie Mullin, Jennifer Newsom and Timothy Klein, and step grandson, Edward J. Newsom. A dear sister to Roberto, Ramiro, Maria del Carmen, Juan and Liliana Gomez. She will be sorely missed by all who loved her.
The family will receive relatives and friends on Wednesday, October 15, 2025 from 2 – 6 p.m. at Shook's Cedar Grove Funeral Home, 486 Pompton Avenue, Cedar Grove, N.J. 07009. A Funeral Mass is planned for Thursday, October 16, 2025, 9:30 a.m. at St. Catherine of Siena RC Church, 339 Pompton Avenue, Cedar Grove, N.J. 07009. Cremation will be private.
