Beatriz S Paiva

With broken hearts, we announce that Beatriz S. Paiva passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, on January 29, 2026, after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born in Lima, Peru, to the late Daniel Varela and Maria Adrocich. Beatriz will be remembered for her positive spirit, generous heart, deep love of family, strong faith, and pride in her Peruvian culture. Her journey brought her to Boston in 1983, which became her beloved home.

Beatriz was a beacon of strength despite the profound hardships she endured, including the loss of her sons. Even while facing illness, her heart remained warm, compassionate, and always willing to help others. She was deeply devoted to her family and her church, living her life with grace and kindness.

Beatriz was the beloved wife of Jaider Arteaga and the late Jose Paiva. She was a devoted and loving mother to Maria Carranza Sapone and her husband, Jose Luis Sapone; the late Luis Manuel Carranza and his wife, Rosa Palacio; and Cesar Adrocich. She took immense pride in her role as a cherished abuela to Kathiuska Castelli and Ivy Govoni, and as a bisabuela to Peter Castelli, Valentina Castelli, and Enzo Govoni, each of whom brought her the greatest joy.

She was a dear older sister to Daniel Varela, German Calderon, Rosa Calderon, Jesus Ramirez, Juan Adrocich, Guillermo Garcia, and the late Luz Varela. Beatriz is also lovingly remembered by her many nieces and nephews, whose lives she touched with her warmth, wisdom, and kindness. May her generous spirit and compassionate heart inspire all who knew her.

Family and friends will honor Beatriz's life by gathering at Most Holy Redeemer Church in East Boston on Wednesday, February 4, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM, with a Funeral Mass to begin at 7:00 PM

Con el corazón roto, anunciamos que Beatriz S. Paiva falleció en paz, rodeada de su familia, el 29 de enero de 2026, después de una valiente batalla contra el cáncer. Nació en Lima, Perú, hija de Daniel Varela (†) y María Adrocich. Beatriz será recordada por su espíritu positivo, su corazón generoso, su profundo amor por la familia, su fe inquebrantable y el orgullo que sentía por su cultura peruana. Su camino la trajo a Boston en 1983, ciudad que se convirtió en su amado hogar.

Beatriz fue un verdadero ejemplo de fortaleza a pesar de las profundas dificultades que enfrentó, incluida la dolorosa pérdida de sus hijos. Aun en medio de la enfermedad, su corazón permaneció cálido, compasivo y siempre dispuesto a ayudar a los demás. Estuvo profundamente dedicada a su familia y a su iglesia, viviendo su vida con gracia y bondad.

Fue una madre devota y amorosa de María Carranza Sapone y su esposo José Luis Sapone; del fallecido Luis Manuel Carranza y su esposa Rosa Palacio; y de César Adrocich. Sentía un inmenso orgullo por su papel como querida abuela de Kathiuska Castelli e Ivy Govoni, y como bisabuela de Peter Castelli, Valentina Castelli y Enzo Govoni, quienes le brindaron las mayores alegrías de su vida.

Fue una querida hermana de Daniel Varela, Germán Calderón, Rosa Calderón, Jesús Ramírez, Juan Adrocich, Guillermo García y la fallecida Luz Varela. Beatriz también es recordada con cariño por sus muchos sobrinos y sobrinas, cuyas vidas tocó con su calidez, sabiduría y bondad. Que su espíritu generoso y su corazón compasivo inspiren a todos los que tuvieron el privilegio de conocerla.

Familiares y amigos honrarán la vida de Beatriz reuniéndose en la Iglesia Most Holy Redeemer, en East Boston, el miércoles 4 de febrero, de 4:00 p.m. a 7:00 p.m., seguido de una Misa Funeral que comenzará a las 7:00 p.m.
