Carol Dufault Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Ruggiero Family Memorial Home - East Boston on Mar. 18, 2026.
Carol Dufault passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 14th, at her home in Revere, surrounded by the family she loved above all else. After a brave & tireless fight against cancer, Carol found peace, leaving behind a legacy of service, laughter, and unwavering devotion.

Born & raised in East Boston, Carol was the cherished daughter of the late John & Mary DiChristoforo. She carried the spirit of "Eastie" with her throughout her life, most notably through her lifelong bond with her "inner circle"-a group of dear friends who stood by her side from elementary school and the old neighborhood through every chapter that followed. Carol was known for her wonderful sense of humor, always ready with a laugh that could brighten any room.

After raising her sons, Carol returned to school to pursue her calling in nursing. A healer by nature, she went on to dedicate 20 years of her life caring for others as a VA nurse. Her compassion for Veterans was a testament to her character. After two decades of enjoying the sunshine in Lakewood Ranch, Florida, Carol retired and with her husband Tom, returned home to the Boston area in 2018 to be closer to those who meant the most to her.

Carol's world revolved around her family. She was the loving wife of Thomas Dufault, with whom she shared more than 30 years of marriage. She was the proud mother of Richard Arnone Jr. and his wife Kristin Aronson, and Christopher Arnone and his wife Lisa. She also leaves her cherished daughter-in-law Elizabeth and Emanuel Boulott of Wakefield, and Anne Marie and Cameron Roberts of Stoneham. One of Carol's greatest joys in life was being a grandmother. She adored her grandchildren, Jonathan Arnone and his wife Dayna, James, May, Jillian, Camron, and Taylor, who brought endless pride and happiness to her life.

Carol was an exceptional cook who loved bringing family and friends together around the table with her homemade Italian feasts. When she wasn't in the kitchen, she could often be found happily babysitting her beloved grand "fur" babies-Mack, Olin, Buddy, Bo, and Koko-cuddling up with a good book beside her cherished "gentle giant," her Bullmastiff Mateo, accompanying Richard to the casino, shopping and enjoying coffee with her closest friends, or cheering on Jimmy Garoppolo, no matter which team he played for.

Carol had a special way of making everyone feel welcome, and her home was always filled with laughter, good food, and the people she loved most. She will be deeply missed and forever loved by her family, her lifelong friends, and all who were lucky enough to know her.

A private graveside service will be held for family and close friends. In lieu of flowers, donations in Carol's memory may be made to the American Bullmastiff Association Rescue (ABARS) through Virginia Rowland at 978-424-1044 or mailed to PO BOX 300, Templeton, MA, 01468.

Yesterday

To Carol´s loving family, I´m so sorry for your loss. I´m going to really miss her. I feel truly blessed to have known her since 2018. Coffee with her was always a joy on Thursdays. We were both federal retirees and kept each other updated on the latest changes. I loved it when she made her famous cream puffs for special occasions. You should have seen us old hens grab them. She couldn´t put them down fast enough. She is now at peace. She crossed over into heaven and is now enjoying her new life. May the good memories you have shared with her, ease your pain. I ask this in Jesus name. Amen
