Russell Lawrence DuFault

Russell Lawrence DuFault, 90, of Cloquet, MN, passed away peacefully October 4th, 2025, at New Perspective Senior Living in Cloquet surrounded by family.

Born to Peter and Margaret (Pratt) DuFault on May 31st, 1935, Russell grew up in the Cloquet area. Russ moved to Flandreau, SD for boarding school, where Russell graduated high school from. He then went to Lawrence, Kansas where he got his mechanic degree from the Haskell Institute.

Upon graduation, Russell enlisted in the United States Navy in 1955. During his service time, he met his wife, June Martin, and they married in 1958. They later moved to the Twin Cities where they raised their 5 children.

He is preceded in death by sons, Gregory and Boyd; parents, Peter and Margaret DuFault; siblings, Peggy Lund, Pete Defoe, Donny Defoe and Shirley Defoe.

Russell is survived by his spouse of 66 years, June DuFault; children, Kurt (Michelle), Kent (Mary), Guy (Lisa); grandchildren, Peter, Jon, Luke, Alyssa, Nicole, Derek, Taylor, Lindsey; 12 great-grandchildren; sister, Carol (Skip) Hayward; and many other family, friends, and loved ones.

Visitation will be held on Friday, October 17th, 2025, at Holy Family Catholic Church (280 Reservation Rd, Cloquet, MN 55720) in Cloquet at 10 am, followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 11 am. Interment to follow at New Holy Family Cemetery, with luncheon at the Fond du Lac Head Start Gymnasium (33 University Rd, Cloquet, MN 55720).
