Beau Sheppard Hamblen, a vibrant, imaginative young soul that was wise beyond his years, was born on July 30, 2012, at home outside of Dunlap, Iowa to David and Karla (Cohrs) Hamblen. At the age of 4 the family moved to an acreage outside of Moorhead, Iowa. Educated through homeschooling, Beau was not only a dedicated learner but also a spirited conversationalist who adored sharing his stories and engaging with those around him. He drew people in; he loved to talk and tell tales that sparked laughter, curiosity and connection. Beau had many hobbies and interests that highlighted his creative and adventurous spirit. He found joy in building Legos, exploring the great outdoors, hunting, fishing, trapping, hiking, sledding and building forts during playtime with his brothers. He enjoyed writing and inventing his own unique codes. An avid reader, he particularly enjoyed the scriptures along with spending time at the Followers of Christ Reunion Grounds. Beau also began to express himself through the piano. In his short time with us, Beau made a lasting impression on all who knew him. “Uncle Beau Beau” was attentive to and adored by his nieces and nephews. His love for life and family and his playful spirit will forever be remembered in the hearts of many.

Beau died on Saturday, December 21, 2024, tragically at his home outside of Moorhead at the age of 12 years, four months and 21 days.

Beau was preceded in death by his grandmother, Bernice Wolf and grandparents, Martin and Lois Smith. He is survived by his parents, David and Karla of Moorhead; siblings, Dannielle (Austin) Stirtz of Logan, Iowa, Brady (Lenae) Hamblen, Marshall Hamblen and Dalton Hamblen all of Dunlap and Shayla Hamblen, Laynee Hamblen, Leland Hamblen and Harrison Hamblen all of Moorhead; grandparents, Dave and Becky Cohrs of Logan and Terry Hamblen Sr. of Dunlap; his nieces and nephews, Grayson, Easton, Cody, Oliver, Archer, Maggie Mae, Oakland and Beckett; and many other relatives and friends.
