Beauford Thomas "Tom" Deering, 85, passed away Friday, May 17, 2024, in San Angelo.
Memorial service will be 10:00 AM Thursday, May 30, 2024, at the First Church of the Nazarene, 3354 W Beauregard. Cremation and arrangements are under the direction of Robert Massie Funeral Home.
Tom was born November 20, 1938, in Pampa to Beauford Wayne Deering and Bonnie Lee Able. Moving to San Angelo, in 1948, he was raised in the Lakeview area where his parents owned Deering's Grocery. Tom graduated from Lake View School in 1958 and went to work for BW Merchandise until he opened Timeless Treasure's in 1981, where he worked until his retirement in 2008.
Tom took his passion for photography and turned it into a business, traveling the state taking pictures of the landscapes and churches. He was passionate about the outdoors, from camping, canoeing, hiking, and biking. He especially loved Big Bend, where he would organize hiking trips with friends to Big Bend South Rim.
He was a lifetime Mason, and was a member of the Lions Club from 2002 to 2015, where he served as Director for 2 years. He was a member of the San Angelo Archeology Club and the San Angelo Genealogy Club.
Survivors include a daughter, Kelley Cooper and husband Ron Cerreta; and a son Casey Deering and wife Lynn, all of San Angelo; four grandchildren, Misty Rodgers and husband, David, Crystal Lacy and husband Blake, Cori Deering and Cole Deering and wife Margaret; five great-grandchildren, Clayton, Dalton, Addison, Sophie, and Asher; his life-long best friend Forest Gregg. Tom was preceded in death by both of his parents and his beloved Labrador: Daisy.
