Susanne grew up in Cambridge, Massachusetts until the age of fifteen when the family moved to Bay Roberts, Newfoundland, her parents’ hometown. She graduated from the Amalgamated School in Bay Roberts and completed a business school program in St. John’s, Newfoundland. In later years, Susanne earned an associate’s degree from Gateway Community College. She greatly valued education and always encouraged her children and grandchildren to pursue higher learning.
Susanne spent most of her career as an executive assistant in the healthcare industry, most recently at Physicians Health Services/Health Net.
Susanne enjoyed all the arts, especially attending Joe’s dramatic performances at Hartford Stage. She and Joe went to many concerts, museums and theatrical productions, both in Connecticut and on Broadway.
Susanne was an avid reader and a frequent patron of the Cheshire Public Library. She also participated in the Sherlock Holmes Society monthly book group sponsored by the Cheshire Senior Center. She was a skilled knitter, a fabulous soup maker, as well as a rescue dog lover.
