Carla P. Burritt passed away peacefully in her sleep on October 28, 2025.
Carla lived a full and beautiful life centered around love, family, and the simple joys of each day. She attended the University of Connecticut and proudly served in the Naval Reserves before devoting herself to raising her family and creating a home filled with warmth and laughter.
She had a deep love for nature and animals – her gardens were always in bloom, and any stray animal that wandered into her yard quickly found food, comfort, and a safe place to stay. Carla was also an avid UConn basketball fan and never missed a game. Most of all, she cherished time spent with her family, who will forever remember her kindness, humor, and gentle spirit.
Carla was predeceased by her beloved husband, Harold Burritt, with whom she shared many happy years. She leaves behind her three daughters, Donna, Holly, and Alison (and her husband, David); and her adored grandchildren, Taylor and Kyle, who will always carry her love in their hearts.
In honor of Carla’s love for animals, the family asks that donations be made to the CT Humane Society, 701 Russell Rd., Newington, CT 06111.
