Helen Rebekkah “Becky” Duncan, 68, of Marion, passed away Thursday, May 23, 2024, at Hospice of the Carolina Foothills in Forest City.
Becky was born in McDowell County, NC, on September 9, 1955, to the late Rev. Earl Monroe Duncan and Gladys Corinne Ellis Duncan. Becky enjoyed shopping and spending time with her friends and family. She loved telling stories & jokes, and was always known to be the life of the party. She especially loved spending time with her grandchildren, who knew her as “Peba,” a name given to her by her oldest grandson, Caleb. Becky will always be loved and remembered by all who knew her.
In addition to her parents, Becky was preceded in death by two brothers, Jon and Mark Duncan.
Those left to cherish her memory include a daughter, Alicia Burnette (Jeff); six grandchildren, Caleb Proctor, Kiersten Proctor, David Burnette, Dillon Burnette, Carter Burnette, and Carson Burnette; her “adopted sister,” Amelia Fox; special friends, Trissy Christy, Judy Whitson, Karen Manick, and Susan McGuinn; and her special aunt & uncle, Wayne and Patsy Ellis.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m., Sunday, May 26, 2024, at Beam Funeral Service. A private family memorial service will be held at a later date.
