Services for Becky Eileen Sponsler, 63, of Indianola, who passed away unexpectedly at home Saturday, October 18, 2025, will be held 10:30 a.m., Saturday, October 25, 2025 at Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church in Indianola.

She was born to Calvin and Elva Anderson on February 4, 1962. She was raised in Woolstock, Iowa and attended Eagle Grove High School. She was involved in band, choir, track, and basketball.

After high school, she attended American Institute of Business in Des Moines where she met her husband, Bill. They were married in 1985 and resided in Des Moines until 1992 when they moved to the Indianola area. In 1992, Becky gave birth to Christina Hailey, and in 1993, Andrew William was born.

Throughout her life, Becky loved and was very involved with her church. She participated with the annual spring cleaning, decorating for Christmas, maintaining some of the flower beds, singing in the choir, and singing a solo during services. In addition, she provided food for events and was involved with various boards. If there was a need, Becky was happy to help. Her most recent activities were leading the Lutheran Women's Missionary League at both the local and district levels, and baking her famous Lemon bars, all of which will be greatly missed!

During her career, Becky held various positions in the financial sector while also volunteering at the Helping Hand. After retiring from her career in 2023, she assumed more responsibilities at the Helping Hand, working several days a week as giving back to the community was important to her.

Becky loved spending time with family and friends, especially her recent trip to France where she celebrated her 40th wedding anniversary. She enjoyed the time she spent with her three grandchildren and their activities.

Becky's hobbies included hot a ir ballooning, puzzles, book club, and maintaining her flower beds. She was an avid sports fan, including NASCAR, professional football, and anything related to Iowa State University.

One of Becky's greatest gifts was her ability to put a smile on other people's faces. Her witty charm and outgoing personality lifted the spirits of many. She will be missed by all, but her memory will live on through the countless lives of the people she touched.

Becky is survived by her husband Bill; children Christina (Kyle Cramer) Sponsler and Andrew Sponsler; grandchildren, Caden, Austin and Kasey; siblings, Calvin (Joyce) Anderson Jr., Bruce (Patti) Anderson, Mervin Anderson and Colleen Anderson; sister-in-law Cindy Anderson and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Calvin Sr. and Elva Anderson; brother, Mark Anderson, and sister-in-law Deb Anderson.

Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m., Friday, October 24, 2025 at Overton Funeral Home in Indianola. Memorials in memory of Becky may be given to Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church or Helping Hand in Indianola.
