Beda Morales Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Bartley Funeral Home - Plainview on Jan. 16, 2026.
With heavy hearts, we announce that Beda Z. Morales, 87, of Petersburg, departed this life and entered Heaven's gates to be reunited with her husband, Henry, Sr., and her sons Frankie and Jesse, on January 15, 2026, in Lubbock, Texas. A Rosary will be held on Monday, January 19, 2026, from 5:00 – 7:00 PM at Bartley Memorial Chapel. Mass will be held Tuesday, January 20, 2026, at 10:00 AM at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Petersburg, TX, with Father Josekutty Thomas officiating. Arrangements are under the supervision of Bartley Funeral Home.

Beda was born on May 27, 1938, in Delores, Hidalgo, MX, to Pablo Zuniga and Elvira Enriquez Zuniga. She married Henry Morales Sr. on February 21, 1959, in Spur, TX.

A devoted member of Sacred Heart Church in Petersburg, Beda lovingly crafted rosaries to donate to the church and share with anyone who wanted one. Her rosaries have been shared throughout the world including Europe and Japan. Faith was the foundation of her life-she prayed daily for all those that she cared about. She loved all her grandchildren and great-grandchildren dearly, and family gatherings meant everything to her. In her later years, she especially cherished the time spent with some of her youngest great-grandchildren, KC, Dallen, and Kilian, often sharing stories about them with friends and fellow parishioners-one of the many ways she expressed her love for all of her family.

Thanksgiving and Christmas were her most cherished holidays, when she and Henry would put up a big tree together. She had a passion for gardening and took great pride in her house plants, flowers and yardwork. She adored her cockatiels, finches and parakeets and found joy in shopping. Most of all, she treasured every moment with Henry before his passing in June 10, 1991. McDonald's was her favorite restaurant, where Frankie took her prior to his passing in October 21, 2020. Her son Jesse, would bring her Pedro's tamales every Saturday morning prior to his passing on September 17, 2024.

Those left to cherish her memory are her children, Vicki Mclaughlin (Larry Vega) of Petersburg, TX, Henry Morales Jr. (Rosalinda) of Petersburg, TX, and Linda (Albert) Moralez of Lockney, TX; her sister, Beda Zuniga of Porterville, CA; her brothers, Chayo Zuniga of Porterville, TX, Fernando (Silvia) Zuniga of Porterville, CA and Amador Zuniga of Porterville, CA; nine grandchildren and twenty-two great- grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Henry Morales Sr.; her parents, Pablo Zuniga and Elvira Enriquez Zuniga; her sons, Jesse Morales and Frank Morales; her brothers, Pablo Zuniga and Miguel Zuniga; and her sister, Maria Dominguez.
