Belvie Risner Obituary
Belvie was born on December 27, 1942, in Rensselaer, Indiana, the son of Hack and Sadie (Brown) Risner. He married the love of his life, June Oliver, on May 7th, 1960, and she lovingly survives.
Belvie was a dedicated businessman, owning and operating a service station for many years. He was also fondly known as the longtime "mayor" of Sandy Pines Golf Course-a role he cherished for the community and friendships it brought. A faithful member of the Wheatfield Pentecostal Church, Belvie lived his life with integrity, kindness, and a deep devotion to God and family.
He loved the outdoors and found great joy in fishing, hunting, and golfing. Above all, Belvie treasured time spent with his family, who were the heart of his life.
Belvie is survived by his beloved wife of 65 years, June Risner; his children, Sandra (Mitchell) Van Kley, Robert "Bobby" Risner, and Andrea (Andy) Korniak; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister, Carolyn Maxwell, along with many cherished nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Belvie James; his brothers, Lee and Eveston Risner; and his sisters, Pat Holley, Susan Burns, and Mona Risner.
A private service and burial will be held at Jackson Funeral Service, with interment at Kankakee Township Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Wheatfield Pentecostal Church in Belvie's honor.
