Rose Evans Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Jackson Funeral Service of DeMotte on Dec. 8, 2025.
Rosie M. "Rose" Evans, age 76, of Kentland, Indiana, passed away on Saturday, December 6, 2025, in Indianapolis.

Rose was born on April 13, 1949, in Pikeville, Kentucky, the daughter of Anson and Ruby (Webb) Selby. She married the love of her life, Mark Evans, on January 29, 1971, and he preceded her in death in March of 2005.

A devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, Rose spent her years as a homemaker and poured her heart into caring for those she loved. She previously enjoyed being involved in community women's clubs and took great joy in fellowship and friendship. Rose loved listening to Elvis and cheering on her favorite teams-the Chicago Cubs and Chicago Bears. Above all, she treasured time spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who were her greatest pride and joy.

Rose is survived by her daughter, Jennifer Haskins; and three grandchildren: Jacob (Michelle) Jenkins, Samuel Haskins, and Caitlin Haskins. She is also survived by six great-grandchildren: Natalie, Paityn, Samuel Jr., Emma, William, and Stephanie.

Rose leaves behind her siblings: Curtis (Kathy) Selby, Luther (Brenda) Selby, Myrtle McCarthy, Sue Hyatt, Darryl Tackett, and Anita Teeter.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and her sisters, Mary Hamilton and Debbie Tackett.

Family and friends are invited to gather at Jackson Funeral Service of DeMotte on Saturday, December 13, 2025, from 11:00 AM until the time of service at 1:00 PM, with Pastor Bill Taylor officiating.

Memorial contributions may be made to the family.

To all of Rose's family. Ed and I will miss her terribly! It has been a pleasure to get reacquainted with her. How we enjoyed our Sunday after church meals together. We would have a discussion on the way over to Vincennes or Lawrenceville as to where we would eat. We always came up with something. Our deepest sympathy, love and prayers go with you all.
