Benilde Pavao

Benilde (Carvalho) Pavao, 74, of Fall River, passed away Tuesday, September 2, 2025, at Saint Anne’s Hospital in Fall River.

    She was the former wife of the late Luis Pavao.

    Born in St. Michael, Azores, she was a daughter of the late Joao Carvalho and Jovina (Martins) Carvalho.

    Prior to retiring, Benilde worked for most of her career as a sewing machine operator at the former Santoro Manufacturing in Fall River. Benilde was known for her contagious laughter and her great love for her family. She cherished nothing more than spending time with her children and grandchildren, who were the center of her world.

    Benilde is survived by her children, Scott Pavao and Tracy Pavao; her siblings, Gabriella Ferreira, Antone Carvalho, Connie Cordeiro, John Carvalho, Joe Carvalho, Fatima Medeiros, and Elvina Cruz; her grandchildren, Allyssa, Kory, Nick, Jessica, Ariana, and Myles; her great-granddaughter, Averie; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son, Steven Pavao, and her brother, Luis Carvalho.

    A visitation will be held Monday, September 8, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Oliveira Funeral Home, 215 Columbia St., Fall River.

    Her funeral will be held the next day, Tuesday, September 9, 2025, beginning at 9:00 AM from the funeral home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM at Santo Christo Church. Interment will be private.
