Benito Joseph Rotile, age 95, of Netcong, New Jersey, died on Monday, December 1, 2024 at Excelcare in Dover, New Jersey with his loving family by his side.
Ben was born and raised in Netcong, New Jersey to the late Antonio and Natalie Rotile as the youngest of 12. After graduating from Netcong High School, Ben was enrolled in the US Army and proudly served his country during the Korean War. It was only a few years after his discharge that he met the love of his life, Mary Jean. The pair were happily married in 1958 and had a beautiful 34 years of marriage.
Ben worked at Stanhope Elementary school before starting his 20 plus year career as a Secretary for the Chester Board of Education while earning his Masters Degree in business administration. In addition to working at his regular job, he also worked at a local clothing store, studied to be a court stenographer and completed his degrees. After his retirement he volunteered for 25 years at Dover General Hospital.
Ben was a devout catholic and a lifelong parishioner of St. Michael's church. He would attend Mass every morning at 6:00 AM and come right back home to make his boys breakfast before they went off to school. Ben was the talented cook in the house and oftentimes made meals for his family from scratch. His talent in the kitchen spanned more than breakfast and dinner though, he was a phenomenal baker. To others he was known as Ben but his family lovingly coined the nickname "Pie Man" due to his impressive baking skills. While everything he crafted was tasty and delicious, his specialty was always his orange chiffon cheesecake.
Ben's family and friends will remember him for his genuine kindness and his loving devotion and care he gave to his wife Mary Jean. He was described as charming and friendly, and that he expressed to all and his easygoing attitude.
In addition to his parents, siblings and daughter-in-law, Ben is preceded in death by his cherished wife Mary Jean Rotile.
He is survived by two loving sons, Craig Rotile and Brian Rotile; daughter in-laws Patty and Helen; 6 grandchildren; and 4 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held Friday, December 6, 2024 from10:00 AM-12:00 PM at Morgan Funeral Home, 31 Main Street, Netcong, NJ, 07857. A Funeral Service will immediately follow visitation at 12:00 PM at the Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Stanhope Union Cemetery.

Ben was a true gentleman-I always enjoyed our conversations after 7 A.M. Sunday Mass. Always a dedicated alter server and dressed to the nines
