Ben loved to sing in various church functions, solos and for funeral services. God blessed him with a beautiful tenor voice and it was an honor for him to use his gifts and his talents in service for the Lord.

This love of trucks enabled him to work for West Texas Equipment Co. 25 years hauling heavy equipment throughout the surrounding areas in the Texas panhandle. He then went to work for L.A. Fuller and Sons as truck superintendent for 13 years organizing truck hauls to various construction sites.
He is preceded in death by his parents, one brother L.C. Black and one sister, Mary Burkhalter. Father and Mother-in-law, Preston and Nadine Davis, and several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.
He is survived by his wife, Sharon Black. Son, Ross Black and wife, Shannon. Daughters, Gaylene Wyant and husband, Johnnie; and LaDonna Stoker and husband, Jeremiah. Three grandsons: Isaac Wyant, Joel Stoker and Gabriel Stoker. Six granddaughters: Ailene Perkey and husband, Korbin; Bailee Strathman and husband, Jerod; Emily Wyant; Allison Johnson and husband, Patrick; Delanie Black and fiancé, Jordan Zunker; and Lillian Stoker. This was one of Ben’s most favorite scriptures: I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Finally, there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will give to me on that Day, and not only to me but also to all who have loved His appearing. II Timothy 4:7-8
