Benjamin A. Chadwick

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Benjamin Andrew Chadwick, of North Dartmouth, Massachusetts, who left us on February 18, 2025, at the age of 36. Benjamin, affectionately known as Ben, was born in New Bedford, MA, on January 28, 1989. He will be remembered for his gentle spirit, infectious smile, and profound ability to bring joy to all who knew him.
Ben spent his life cherishing the simple pleasures, often found immersed in puzzles, a pastime he excelled at and loved dearly. His favorite food was pizza, and Christmas held a special place in his heart as his favorite holiday. He thrived during visits from his beloved Aunt Sue, who would take him to Friendly's to indulge in two grilled cheeses, french fries, a coke, and chocolate ice cream topped with M&M's-moments that exemplified his delight in life's little joys.
A resident of Comprehensive Mental Health Systems in Dartmouth since 2018, Ben was nurtured by a compassionate community of caregivers and housemates who became like family to him. He attended South Coast Collaborative, Community Connections, and most recently, Project Independence, where he made lasting friendships and continued to share his warm spirit.
Benjamin is survived by his devoted parents, Hartland and Nancy (Emens) Chadwick, who relocated to Galax, VA, and his aunts, Susan Hughes and Ruth Schuler of Webster, MA. He was also the cherished grandson of the late Nathaniel and Kaye Emens of Middleboro and the late William and Priscilla Chadwick of Assonet.
In honor of Ben's beautiful spirit, his family extends their heartfelt gratitude to all who cared for him and will commemorate his life by encouraging everyone to embrace each day fully and cherish loved ones.
Funeral services will be held privately for immediate family. Your thoughts and prayers during this time of grief are greatly appreciated.
