Rick Len Chadwick, age 71, of Lenoir City, passed away at Parkwest Medical Center on Thursday, January 29, 2026, after a hard-fought battle with cancer. Rick grew up in South Knoxville and was baptized at Meridian Baptist Church. He belonged to Burlington No. 763 Knoxville Free and Accepted Masons Lodge. During Rick's career he was employed at Robertshaw Controls, Alcoa Aluminum Company, Y-12 National Security Complex and the Oak Ridge National Laboratory. After retirement, Rick worked for the Home Depot, Tilley Lane Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, Ram and the City of Lenoir City.
Rick is preceded in death by his parents, Fred Washington Chadwick Jr and Hazel Wright Chadwick, and his sister Linda Diane Wilkerson.
He is survived by his wife of 24 years, Connie Chadwick; sons, Lance (Sarah) Chadwick and Kevin Chadwick; stepsons, Brian Spears and Travis (Kathy) Spears; grandchildren, Haley Spears Drenth and Tyler Spears; brothers, Vick (Tammy) Chadwick and Brian (Rhonda) Chadwick; several nieces and nephews, and many other family members and lifelong friends.
Rick loved sports of all kinds, especially when the Tennessee Vols played. He played basketball, football and baseball as a youth. He was a Knoxville city bowling champion and served as the Lee Russell Sports Complex baseball commissioner. He also loved to play golf with friends. Rick volunteered his time for so many causes, including serving as MC for Lenoir City Special Olympics, public address announcer for Lenoir City High School football games, Lenoir City High School Sports Hall of Fame Committee, and Lenoir City Recreation Advisory Board. Rick helped the basketball booster club on Saturday mornings by preparing food for the concession stand. He gave football tickets to several neighbors, co-workers and friends because he wanted them to be able to enjoy the games. He gave graduation gifts to neighbors and friends. Rick served on the Lenoir City School Board for 30 years, and it was his passion. Since childhood, he always enjoyed schools. He was voted Mr. Anderson at his elementary school and was class treasurer at Young High School. He was a positive person who loved to see others thrive.

Friends may call at their convenience on Friday, February 6th at Click Funeral Home in Lenoir City. Family and friends will gather 10:30 Saturday morning, February 7th at the funeral home and proceed to Lakeview Cemetery in Lenoir City for a graveside service at 11 a.m. with Bro. Robert Laymance officiating. All are welcome to attend.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Lenoir City Schools Family Resource Center or Lenoir City High School Sports Hall of Fame.
