IN LOVING MEMORY
of
BENJAMIN VINCENT DUENAS FLORES
(March 31, 1955 – April 27, 2024)
Benjamin Vincent Duenas Flores, better known as Ben Piti, of San Diego, CA has passed on peacefully surrounded by loved ones at the age of 69.
Ben was born in Tamuning, Guam. He lived in Sinajana, Guam until he joined the U.S. Navy after high school. In the Navy, he served in the Vietnam War, then relocated to California where he completed a full career and retired as an Avionics Electrician with the Civil Service.
Ben loved life with an unmatched passion, a sentiment he conveyed to his family, friends, and even to the medical team that cared for him. He found delight and contentment everyday at home, where he could indulge in simple pleasures like pork chops, ice cream, fina’denne dinanche, corn tortillas, kaddon katne yan aga ni malechen niyok (or, as he called it, “food of the gods”), and savor in the comfort of familiar surroundings.
Ben's zest for life showed everyday and his face was always illuminated with his famous crooked smile. He took immense joy in fishing expeditions, cheering for his beloved 49ers, indulging in Western shows, rocking out to his favorite tunes and playing guitar, his gun collection, riding motorcycles, telling stories, and his family and friends.
Ben leaves behind a legacy of passion, strong will, and unwavering love. His unparalleled spirit will forever live on in the hearts of all who know him.
