Benjamin Gerena Obituary
Born on November 10, 1933, in Luquillo, Puerto Rico, into a family of 8 sons and 1 daughter. Benjamin moved to Philadelphia in 1968, with his wife, Celia and young daughter, Sarli, and a son, Jose, born in 1971. His presence was a constant source of strength and support to his family.
Benjamin is survived, and lovingly remembered, by his beloved wife, of 59 years, Celia; daughter, Sarli; and son, Jose. He is also survived by his sister, Carmen Cruz Gerena.
His memory lives on through his family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Genaro Rodriguez; mother, Fidelina Gerena; and brothers, Javier Rodriguez Gerena, Beno Cruz Gerena, Arturo Cruz Gerena, Gildin Rodriguez Gerena, Manuel Rodriguez Gerena, Vidal Rodriguez Gerena, and Genaro Rodriguez Gerena.
Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing from 9:30am-11am on Monday, January 19th, 2026 at the Dinan Funeral Home, 1923 Spring Garden Street, Philadelphia PA 19130 followed by a service at 11am.
Interment is at Ivy Hill Cemetery, 1201 Easton Road, Philadelphia, 19150.
