August 6, 1962 – January 25, 2026
Benjamin Wilbur Gomez, faithful pastor and devoted servant of Christ, went home to his Savior on January 25, 2026.
For over 16 years, Pastor Ben shepherded Devine Destiny Church with deep love for Jesus, guiding his congregation and community through prayer, wisdom, and selfless kindness. He helped all who crossed his path.
He shared 45 loving years with his wife, Hazel B. Gomez, and was a cherished father to Jennie Kirby (partner Lee Brenner), Carolyn M. Moreno (husband Manuel Moreno), and Benjamin J. Gomez (wife Lisa Gomez), and an adored grandfather to eight grandchildren.
His final heroic act-saving a loved one-mirrored the sacrificial love he lived daily.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, AnnaMaria and Jose Gomez; his father, Benjamin Gomez Sr.; his brother, Donald Gomez; and his sister, Ernestine Ochana. He is survived by his wife, children, grandchildren, his mother, Mary Gomez & Eloy; his sisters, Judy Garcia and Darlene Gomez-Lovato (husband Fernando); and many loved ones.
