Benjamin Leo Hank (94) also known as Sonny of O’Fallon, MO entered into Heaven on May 14, 2023. Surrounded by his family.
Benjamin (Ben) was born on May 12th 1929 in St. Charles, MO. He was the son of Benjamin Owen Hank & Margarette Ann Palarty.
Ben served his country in the Army during the Korean War from March 1951-December 1952.
He was united in marriage on September 26th 1953, to Arlis Annette (Morgan) of Troy, MO. Together they raised 4 children; Randy (Patti) Hank of Port St. Lucie, FL, Susan (Frank) Sauer of Warrenton, MO, Darren Hank of Lake St. Louis, MO and Darla Contis of Moscow Mills, MO.
He is survived by his 4 children, 10 grandchildren; Jeramiah (Rachel) Soles – St. Charles, MO, Anna Bivens – Marthasville, MO, Josuah (Toni) Soles – Wright City, MO, Christopher (Victoria) Hank – Centennial, CO, Melissa (Zach) Hank - Florida, Natalie (Jeremiah) Brugger – Richman, VA, Erika (Andrew) Cooke – Florida, Steven Black – Wentzville, MO, Shawn Ivester (Abhy) – St. Charles, MO and Jeffrey (Caitlin) Contis – Montgomery City, MO; 21 great-grandchildren; Ashley, Savanna, Sierra, Abrianna, Morgan, Meagan, Madalynn, Cheyenne, Breanne, Nevaeh, Skyler, Myra, Claire, Ethan, Aaria, Arlis, Penny, Sylvie, Darcie, Eddie and Addie; and 1 sister, Patsy Burnette – St. Peters, MO.
He was preceded in death by his parents, an infant sister, 1 brother, Jerry Hank and his wife on January 28, 1995.
He loved music and was an avid banjo player. He liked line dancing and rode motorcycles well into his 80s. Ben liked going to the winery and listening to his son play music. He enjoyed his model trains and had a whole village set up. He had to watch the Price is Right and Wheel A Fortune every day no matter where he was. Ben ended every night with ice cream and his “chocolate” vitamins.
Ben was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project.
