Benjamin Hurowitz Obituary
Ben was born in New York on May 5, 1943. He grew up in Forest Hills, New York and graduated from Hofstra University. Ben met his wife, Marcy Hurowitz (neé Fitzer), when the two were each vacationing with friends in Aruba. They married on March 11, 1967. Together, they welcomed sons Stuart, 56, and Brian, 53. Ben went on to have a long, successful career in ad sales in New York City before he and Marcy retired to Florida in 2012.
An avid collector and baseball fan, Ben loved collecting baseball memorabilia and attending the New York Yankees' annual Spring Training. Ben collected model cars, was an avid reader, and never said no to a great cigar on the patio.
Ben is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Marcy Hurowitz; sons Stuart (Deborah) and Brian Hurowitz (Nell); grandchildren Max and Sophia Hurowitz; and nieces Dawn Begley (Matt) and Tara Cohen.
There will be no service. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
