Benjamin Greeley Kelly was born on April 10, 1938 in Tuba City, AZ to Bert Kelly and Ruth (Lessert) Kelly. Benjamin made his journey to the Spirit World on March 13, 2026 at his home near Pine Ridge, SD.
Benjamin is survived by his children, Angela Prue, David (Janet) Kelly, Diane Kelly, Gaylon Kelly, Gail (Myron Wagner) Kelly, Benjamin (Connie Little Hawk) Kelly, Jr., Alberta Clincher, and Roberta (Larry Shoulders) Woman Dress; brother, Nolan Kelly; sisters, Kellamae Kelly and Alvina McCabe; brother-in-law, Henry Clincher; grandchildren, Marlon (Paulina Fast Wolf) Kelly, Dwight Kelly, Rachel (Manuel) Galeana, Tlana Two Bulls, Marlee, Mekyla, Michael, & Tiaunni Kelly, Ryan & Amanda Abadilla, Dymind Homer, Curtis, Cecelia, & Keith Kelly, Jeremy Prue, and Zachary Trevino; great grandchildren, Ryan & Anthony Kelly, Ronessa & Creighton Two Bulls, Sebastian & Gavin Prue, Suraya Kelly, and Reese, Everly, & La'Ryah Galeana; his companion, Trivian Yellow Bear and her children, Thetna, Michelle, Holly, Rose and son, Cameron Yellow Bear-Waters.
Benjamin was preceded in death spouse, Darlene (Clincher) Kelly; parents, Bert & Ruth (Lessert) Kelly; paternal grandparents, Charles & Lovie (Kelly) Schultz; maternal grandparents, Joe & Minnie (Means) Lessert; daughter, Glynis Kauffner; brothers, Lessert Kelly and Anthony Kelly; sister, Bettilou Nunez; grandchildren, John Clincher and Nicole Woman Dress; uncle, George Willie, Sr.; aunt, Emmajean Willie; niece, Heather Kelly; and nephews, Emmett Kelly and Mason Kelly.
Pallbearers will be Myron Wagner, Alan Wagner, Corey Mills, Austin Kelly, Kevin Kelly, Tyler Yellow Boy, Warren Red Cloud, Sr., and Emmett Kelly.
Honorary pallbearers will be all of his beloved family and friends near and far, VA Medical Center-Hot Springs, Stillwater Hospice Staff, and All U.S. Military Veterans.
Wake Services: One night wake service starting at 2:00 PM, Tuesday, March 24, 2026 at the Father Pauly Hall in Porcupine, SD with evening services starting at 7:00 PM with Military Roll Call to follow.
Mass of Christian Burial: 10:00 AM, Wednesday, March 25, 2026 at the Father Pauly Hall in Porcupine, SD
Officiating: Father Ron Seminara, S.J. and Ms. Joyce Tibbitts
Traditional Lakota Services: To Be Announced
Burial Services: 2:30 PM, Wednesday, March 25, 2026 at the Black Hills National Cemetery in Sturgis, SD
