I remember him so well. I remember his red and green posters each morning.

Mr. Mace was my junior high school English teacher, a job that he was born to do and he did it well. All of us who spent time in his class have his voice and his wife's funny posters in our heads to this day when we write. We became pen pals for a few years and though he very kindly said I was a teaching colleague and should call him Benjamin, I just couldn't do it. He remained Mister and I always pictured him in his proper suit, every hair in place, expecting and eliciting excellence (alliteration!) from his students every day. My condolences to his friends and family for their loss.
