Benjamin John Samudio, known affectionately to all as Ben, embarked on his final adventure, leaving us with hearts full of memories on August 4, 2024, at the age of 57.
Born on March 14, 1967, in Corpus Christi, Texas, Ben was a man who lived with the spirit of a stand-up comedian, always ready with a joke and a smile that could light up any room. His laugh was infectious, his wit quick, and his stories-well, let's just say they were never short of an audience.
Ben was a loving father, an adored grandfather, a cherished brother, and a treasured friend. Corpus Christi was both his stage and his sanctuary, the place where he was born, lived, laughed, and ultimately took his final bow, after a courageous battle with liver cancer.
Ben was preceded in death by his parents, Delia and Jesse Samudio; his brothers, Jesse, Johnny 'B Good' and Roger Samudio; sister, Mary Ann S. Ayala; cousin, Mike Garcia III aka Primo Mike; and nephew, Robert Flores, who all, no doubt, prepped the stage for his grand entrance on the other side.
He is survived by his daughters, Kimberly and Veronica Ramirez; grandchildren, Izaiah Flores, Izaac, Aubrielle, and Aliana Garza; sisters, Lucy S. Kreider and Dora S. Cortez; siblings, Tony G Samudio. Beto (Nancy), Serena, Stephen, and Sierra Samudio (Anthony, Anthony Jr, Ada, and Aaliyah Green); and numerous nieces and nephews.
We will carry on the tales of Ben's adventures, ensuring his memory never fades. We will miss his impromptu comedy shows at family gatherings, but the laughter he instilled in us will echo for generations.
As we bid farewell to our beloved Ben, let's honor his memory by embracing each day with the same laughter and love.
In true Ben fashion, we imagine he'd want his final curtain call to be met not with sorrow but with a standing ovation for a performance well lived.
Benjamin's family will receive condolences on Thursday, August 22, 2024, at Treviño Funeral Home, 3006 Niagara @ Port Ave. from 9:00 AM until 12:00 PM; with a Prayer Service to begin at 12:00 PM. Rite of Committal and Interment will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery.
