Mr. Benjamin Smith Schoolcraft, 86, of Resaca, Georgia, died Thursday March 5, 2026, after several years of declining health.
He was born in Amma, West Virginia on July 15, 1939, the son of the late Leo Smith Schoolcraft and Lilia Garnett Brown Schoolcraft. He was affectionately known by family and friends as "Ben" or "Benny". He adored his family. They said, "He was sweet, smart, and funny in a totally quiet but impactful way. His spirit will stay with us forever. He had the utmost respect from his family. And no one can make biscuits and gravy like him!"

Hayes; sister, Charlotte "Sookie" Unrue; brother, William "Bill" Schoolcraft, and the mother of his children, Margaret D. Schoolcraft, along with other relatives.
It was Mr. Schoolcraft's wishes to be cremated with a private family gathering to follow at one of Ben's favorite fishing spots.
