Benjamin Joseph Sizemore

Benjamin Joseph Sizemore, 73, of Oakwood Village, was welcomed into heaven by his Lord and savior peacefully after a courageous and resilient battle with liver disease. To know Benny was to enjoy him. He was a delightful presence and a true buddy to everyone he met. Affectionately known as Ben, Benny, Dad, and Grampy, he was the beloved husband of 46 years to Margie (nee Sleyzak); adored dad of Angi Mancini (Tony), Amanda Oslejsek (Mike), and Samantha Scahel (Michael); Grampy to the true loves of his life, grandkids David (Meghan), Amber (Kevin), Joshua, Brittani (Danny), Kristina, Justin, Kayla, Hailey, Michael and Delaney; great-grandpa to Luke, Kinsley, Alex, and DJ; brother to Jerry (Barb), the late Virgil (Deanna), and Donna Kay (Henry); brother-in-law to the late Steve Sleyzak (Gal), Larry Sleyzak (Jenny), Mike Sleyzak (Cheryl) and Pat Kowalski (Joe). Ben was a West Virginia native, the son of the late Benjamin Franklin and Lyla Irene (nee Pack). He was a loving and supportive cousin and Uncle Benny to many. Ben was a graduate of Bedford High School class of 1971, where he met his lifelong best man Rick Orill (Donna). He was a devoted and enthusiastic member of the Teamsters Local 407, where he met lifelong friends that became family. His exuberance for life and the smile on his face will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. His ability to make everyone laugh and the pure joy and love he held for his family will forever be cherished. There was never a prouder "girl dad" than him. He was very proud to be a father and even more overjoyed to be a Grampy. His support and kindness shown to friends and strangers alike will be deeply missed. His love for Jesus and his unwavering faith will never be forgotten. Ben's family would like to thank the kind and loving neighbors on Garden Rd., for their endless support over the years, and the staff at UH Ahuja whose nurses fought for Benny's life as much as he did. Your empathy and devotion were not left unnoticed. Also, to Dr. Seth Sclair and his nurse practitioner Kourtney, who gave so much more time, and allowed Ben to live with dignity, care, and respect. As John Dever put it best, "Country Roads take me home, to the place I belong, West Virginia, mountain mama, take me home." Friends may call at the FERFOLIA FUNERAL HOME 356 W. AURORA RD. (ST RT 82) SAGAMORE HILLS FOR VISISTATION MONDAY 4-7PM. Family and friends are asked to gather Tuesday at First Baptist Church of Bedford 445 Turney Rd, Bedford, OH 44146 where Funeral Services will be held to celebrate Ben's Life at 11:00 a.m. VISITATION TUESDAY AT CHURCH 10:00AM UNTIL TIME OF SERVICES. Interment All Saints Cemetery.
