Benjamin Jay Smith

Benjamin Jay Smith, age 80, of Minneapolis, passed away peacefully the morning of 8/11/22. He was preceded in death by his parents, Louis and Esther Smith. He is survived by his loving family, including beloved wife, Andrea of 58 years; children, Phillip Smith, Nicole and (Jordan Sendar), Valerie Tate (partner, Eric Smith); grandchildren, Jonah Tate, Cameron and Gavin Sendar and Jonah's dad, Clark Tate. He created a network of love and family, devoted to his children and grandchildren. He was very active, a sports fan, and had a big sense of humor. Ben was an attorney and had a passion for teaching religious school, tutoring children and was a well loved coach. If he did it all over again, he said he would have been a teacher. When he retired, he stayed active and opened a restaurant. He was a giving and open hearted man who will be deeply missed.
