Benjamin Stango, Jr., affectionately known as Benny or Benjo to his friends and family, took his final bow on February 25, 2025, leaving behind a legacy that will be cherished and remembered by all who knew him. Born on October 16, 1947, in Philadelphia, PA, he was a graduate of West Catholic High School and an Air Force Veteran. Benjamin was a funny, loving, and humble man who spent his professional career working for the City of Philadelphia before retiring to Prospect Park, Pennsylvania. He was an ardent supporter of his grandkids in their sporting endeavors, often seen cheering from the sidelines, his laughter and encouragement echoing across the field.
Benjamin's greatest joy came from his family. He is survived by his daughter, Melissa (Michael) Staublein, and son, Nicholas Stango. His siblings, David (Kathy) Stango and Madeline (Jeannie) Robbins also mourn his loss. Benjamin was a devoted grandfather to Samantha, Jackson, Michael, Noah, Giovanni, and Mila. He is preceded in death by his parents, Benjamin Sr and Mary Stango, his son Michael (Ashley) Stango, and his brothers Francis and Ralph Stango.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Graveside Service and Air Force Military Honors on Monday, March 17, 2025 at 10:00 am at the Washington Crossing National Cemetery, 830 Highland Road, Newtown, Pennsylvania, 18940. Please arrive no later than 9:45 am and wait for further directions on the right side of the Visitor's Center.
We encourage you to share your favorite memories of Benjamin on his memorial page, as well as any photos you may have. His life was filled with love and laughter, and his spirit will live on through these cherished moments.

Ben, as I knew him, married one of my sisters, Claire, many years earlier, which is how we 1st met.
I always enjoyed being in his company, as he was very personable & friendly, albeit mostly quiet & reserved
We socialized mainly at the Jersey Shore, while sharing a week with the Asman family, spending most of our time playing beach games & using the waves.
He was very proud of all his children & many grandchildren & went to many of their sporting events to root for them.
I am sure he will be happy to join up with his Son, Mike(Michael), who passed just a couple yrs ago.
Rest in peace Ben!
