Benjamin Kirk "John" Tillman

Benjamin Kirk “John” Tillman, 68, of Moultrie, passed away on Wednesday, January 8, 2025 at his home.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, January 13, 2025, at Hopewell Baptist Church with the Reverend Julian Griner officiating. Interment will follow at Hopewell Church Cemetery. Rob Gay, Jeff Sheppard, Jordan Dasher, Kellen Copeland, Collen Strickland, Josey Tillman will all serve as pallbearers. Irwin Tillman and Robbie Tillman will be honorary pallbearers.

The family will receive friends one hour before the service

Born on October 18, 1956, in Moultrie, Georgia, he was the son of the late Robert Arthur Tillman, Sr. and Addie Jean Dampier Long. Mr. Tillman was a retired mechanic and truck driver. He was of the Christian faith. Mr. Tillman was a devoted and loving father and grandfather. He loved nothing more than being “Pa” and spending his time teaching, spoiling, and nurturing his grandchildren. He will be greatly missed.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother Julian Glenn “Dub” Tillman.

Mr. Tillman is survived by his sons, Johnathan Tillman and wife Nicole and Jonah Tillman and wife Mary; grandchildren, MaKenzie Harnage, Jay Tillman, Jackson Tillman, Judd Tillman, Diana Drummond, Sophia Drummond, Hadley Tillman, and Isaiah Tillman; brothers, Irwin “Ned” Tillman and wife Sheri, Robbie Tillman and wife Susan; sisters, Renna Dasher and husband Hal, and Alyshia Strickland and husband Stuart.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Baker Funeral Home.
