Steven Wayne “Bones” Terry, 64, of Lenox, passed away on Sunday, March 8, 2026, at his home surrounded by his family.
A funeral service will be held in the chapel of Baker Funeral Home on Wednesday, March 11, 2026, at 2:00 pm with Reverend Joe Crews officiating. Interment will follow at Cool Springs Church Cemetery. Chris Hall, Daniel Chadwick, Chad Castleberry, Brad Russell, Colby Hall, and David MacGlamery will serve as pallbearers.Tracey Cobb and Matthew Holton will serve as honorary pallbearers.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, March 10, 2026, from 6:00 – 8:00 pm at Baker Funeral Home.
Born on September 20, 1961, in Dooly County, Georgia, he was the son of Marilyn Virginia Spires Barber and the late Talmadge Terry.
Mr. Terry worked as a mechanic at Sumner Paving Company. He was well known for his ability to tell a good joke and bring a smile to those around him. In his spare time, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and working on tractors. Above all, he loved spending time with his family and friends. He was of the Baptist faith.
In addition to his father, he is preceded in death by his brother, David Terry, and his great-nephew, David Adambox.
Mr. Terry is survived by his mother, Marilyn Virginia Spires Barber, and stepfather, Gene Barber; sisters, Linda Wall and husband John, Barbara Wimberly and husband Joey, Betty Russell and husband Bates, and Becky Kenyon; and an abundance of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
