Hazel Jeanette Kilgore Shiver, 93, of Moultrie, passed away on Thursday, March 5, 2026, at her home.
A funeral service will be held in the chapel of Baker Funeral Home on Monday, March 9, 2026, at 11:00 am with Reverend Dr. Robert McCoy officiating. Interment will follow at Greenfield Church Cemetery. Phillip Reyes, Jacob Miller, Austin Tomlinson, Brandon Tomlinson, Bailey Hamm, and Kaegan Bledson will serve as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, March 8, 2026, from 4:00 – 6:00 PM at Baker Funeral Home.
Born on August 6, 1932, in Moultrie, Georgia, she was the daughter of the late Lloyd Franklin Kilgore and Callie Gray Kilgore.
Mrs. Shiver worked as a dedicated seamstress at Riverside Manufacturing for more than forty years. She was a woman who found happiness in life’s simple pleasures and especially in the time she spent with those she loved. She loved her family dearly and took great joy in spoiling her grandchildren. One of her favorite pastimes was driving the tractor on the family farm. Mrs. Shiver was a faithful member of Autryville Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, James Rudolph Shiver; her son, Wayne Shiver; her daughter, Cathy Iris Tomlinson; and her siblings, Lois Frances Kilgore, Nellie Mae Miller, Robert Kilgore, Johnny Kilgore, and Lucious “Tadpole” Kilgore.
Mrs. Shiver is survived by her grandson, Wesley Tomlinson and wife Michelle; great-grandchildren, Austin Tomlinson, Brandon Tomlinson, Zoey Tomlinson, and Bailey Hamm; and several nieces and nephews.
