It is with both heavy hearts and fond memories that we announce the passing of Benjamin Ware, a beloved husband, father, brother, and friend. Ben departed this life peacefully on January 27, 2026, at his residence. He was born on September 1, 1940, in
Eufaula, Alabama, to the union of Oralee (Bryant) Ware and James Ware. and spent many years nurturing a legacy of love and resilience in
Youngstown, Ohio.
Benjamin embraced life with a spirit of determination and kindness. He dedicated himself to the fabrication industry at General Motors, where he earned the respect and admiration of his colleagues. During his impressive thirty years of service GM, he had a reputation for his robust work ethic and unwavering reliability in various roles, including assembler, repairman, and coordinator. He took pride in providing for his family, valuing his contributions in both the workplace and home.
Reflective of his character, Ben embraced life's simple joys. He was an avid sports fan, proudly supporting the MBL's New York Yankees baseball and the NFL's Miami Dolphins football leagues. His leisure time was often filled with laughter shared over card games with family and friends, where he enjoyed the thrill of gambling, whether it be blackjack, poker, or let it ride. His fondness for travel allowed him to forge lasting memories with his loved ones, enriching their lives through shared experiences.
Benjamin leaves behind a legacy of love and strength, survived by his devoted wife, Toni Stanford--Ware; his four sons, Ivan (Mary) Ware, Anthony (Renee) Ware, Mark (Camille) Stanford, and Troy (Charley) Wallace; and his daughter, Joyce Thorn. His memory will be lovingly preserved by his thirteen grandchildren, many great-grandchildren, and siblings Ransom (Mary) Ware, William (Michelle) Ware, and Dorothy Pierce, along with a score of extended family and friends who will deeply miss him.
As Ben crossed into eternity, he was reunited with his beloved parents, his brother James "Pete" Ware; and sister, Odena Harris, Benjamin will be remembered for his unwavering love for family, dedication to his work, and the joy he brought to all who had the privilege of knowing him.
As we gather to celebrate Ben's life, we reflect on the love he shared, the laughter he sparked, and the dedication he embodied. His spirit will forever remain alive in the hearts of those who loved him dearly.
In honor of Benjamin's life, a public viewing will be held on Friday February 6, 2026, at 10:00 AM at the Jaylex Event Center, 2110 Glenwood Ave., Youngstown. A remembrance service to honor his life will begin at 11:00 with Pastor Jeffery Stanford as the eulogist. After the committal ceremony Ben will be laid to rest upon the palatial estate of Tod Homestead Cemetery.
