Benjamin Williams

Benjamin " Benny" Williams, 84, of New Britain, CT, passed away on January 9, 2025, after a long illness. Benjamin was born on September 29, 1940, in Danville, GA, to Isaac and Annie Lue (Carswell) Williams. At the age of 15, he moved to New Britain, CT, where he graduated New Britain High School Class of 1961. Benjamin dedicated his life to hard work and service. He was a longtime employee of the Hospital for Special Care, where he worked for 47 years, and also held a 35-year career at Pratt & Whitney Aircraft Engines. He is lovingly remembered and deeply mourned by his children, Michael Williams of CA and Benita Williams of Bristol, CT as well as his siblings, Freddie Lee Williams and his wife Sadie of New Britain, CT, Janice Carswell of Macon, GA, and Donald Williams, also of Macon, GA, grandchildren Ciera R. Hunter of Bristol, CT and Nya E. Williams of MA. sister-in-law, Iris Williams of Atlanta, GA. as well many aunts, cousins, nieces and nephews. Benjamin was preceded in death by his parents, Isaac and Annie Lue Williams, many dear friends and family members, including his sister, Jimmey Lee Williams, brother Izell Williams and his son, Isaac Maurice Williams. Benjamin's legacy of kindness, dedication, and love for his family and community will forever be cherished. A memorial service will be held on Friday (January 24, 2025) at 7 PM in the Shaker-Hill Funeral Home, 764 Farmington Ave. New Britain. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
