Doctor Bennett Forte

Doctor Bennett Forte (known affectionately as "Doc") was born on August 28, 1949, to the late Aaron and Nettie Mencer Forte in Eufaula, Alabama. He departed this life peacefully on January 14, 2026, at his home in Columbus, Georgia.

Doctor Forte was a man who believed in hard work. He possessed an extensive knowledge of automobiles and eighteen-wheelers and spent many years employed with Bill Heard, JABCO Trucking, and Frontier Trucking. More than a truck driver, he was a master mechanic - a true problem-solver who could fix just about anything with an engine.

He was united in marriage to Teresa Ann Forte on September 23, 2005, and together they shared twenty years of marriage.

A Homegoing Celebration honoring the life of Mr. Forte will be held on Thursday, January 22, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Bread of Life Christian Center, with interment to follow at Fort Mitchell National Cemetery. Visitation will take place at the church from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m.

Doctor Forte leaves to cherish his memory his devoted wife, Teresa Ann Forte; six children, Erica Forte, Erin Forte-Griffin (Rayshon Griffin), Tiffany Forte, Courtney Brown (Karprice Bentley-Brown), Marcus Brown, and Mario Brown; and his stepdaughter, Petra Pollard (Ricarrdo Pollard). He is also survived by a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Surviving siblings include Hattie Denson, Berry Forte, and Edward Forte, all of Eufaula, Alabama; Betty L. Fitch of Columbus, Georgia; Robert Forte (Brenda) and James Forte (Tabatha), both of Tampa, Florida; Edna Sprott of Colorado Springs, Colorado; Arlie Forte of Cincinnati, Ohio; and Allen Forte (Janice) of North Richland Hills, Texas.
