Bennie was born in Jarales, New Mexico, and was the eldest son of Ernesto and Carlota Padilla. He had a long career with the State of New Mexico, first as an X-ray Technician and retiring as the Director of Vital Statistics. Bennie spent his retirement traveling the United States and spending time with friends and family.
Bennie is preceded in death by his parents, Ernesto and Carlota Padilla; three sisters, Helen Baca, Ramona Johnson and Lucy Padilla; four brothers, Eloy Padilla, Larry Padilla, Robert Padilla and Stanley Padilla; his long-time partner, Norman Douglis Fletcher. He is survived by his brothers, Ruben Padilla and wife, Dolores Padilla and brother, David Padilla. He is also survived by his beloved nieces, nephews, extended family, and close friends.
