Benny Davenport, Sr. was born on August 27, 1939 to Gladys and M.L. Davenport, Sr. in Aiken County, SC. He transitioned peacefully on July 29, 2025.

Benny attended A.L. Corbett. He owned Davenport Vault Company. Benny was the founder of The Temple of God Ministries, where he attended under his son Pastor Everett Davenport. His favorite song to sing was "Days of Elijah".

Benny married the love of his life Beatrice Johnson-Davenport. They met at her friends house (Sophia Holloway) and were inseparable every since. They stayed together for 64 Years until Benny departed. They had four sons; Everett Davenport; Marvin (Wanda) Davenport, Bennie (Azalee) Davenport and Andre L. (Virginia) Davenport.

He was preceded in death his son Bennie Kenny Davenport, Jr. along with his brothers; Charles Davenport and Larry Davenport.

Benny Davenport, Sr. is survived by his wife, Beatrice Johnson-Davenport; sons, Everett Davenport, Marvin (Wanda) Davenport and Andre L. (Virginia) Davenport; brothers, Melvin Davenport and Benjamin Davenport; sister, Janice Davenport along with a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Benny left behind an abundance of family and friends who will miss him dearly.

Benny will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
