It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Mr. Benny "Frog" Davis, who left us peacefully, at his home in Aberdeen, on January 25, 2026, at the age of 78. Born on November 14, 1947, in Clay County, to the late Bennie and Sara Elizabeth Cartee Davis, lived a life filled with love, laughter, and music, touching the hearts of all who knew him.
In addition to his parents, Benny was preceded in death by a sister, Glenda Boland and by three brothers, Hubert, Bro. James "Skeet", and Bro. Donnie Davis
Benny dedicated himself to a career as a self-employed carpenter. His craftsmanship was not merely a profession; it was a passion that reflected his commitment to quality and detail.
In addition to his work, Benny was an avid and accomplished musician. He had a special talent for playing the guitar, and music flowed through him. He sang from his heart, sharing his love for melodies and rhythms with friends and family alike. Music was not just a hobby for Benny; it was a way of life. He had an extraordinary ability to make people feel good about themselves through his performances, often bringing joy to gatherings with his heartfelt songs.
On May 24, 2009, Benny married Linda Gardner Davis in Meridian.
Benny had a zest for life that was undeniable. He enjoyed a good practical joke and had a knack for making people laugh. His lighthearted spirit and infectious laughter brought joy to those around him. He always saw the good in people, reminding us to find the silver lining in every situation. His warm heart and positive outlook will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
