Marie Davis, 78, born on March 19, 1947, in Aberdeen, Monroe County, Mississippi, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 11, 2026, at Sanctuary Hospice House in Tupelo, Mississippi. She was a devoted daughter, sister, wife, mother, and friend, who lived her life with grace and a deep commitment to those she loved.
Marie had a successful career as a retail manager at Amy's Clothing Store, where her keen sense of style and commitment to customer service made her a beloved figure among her colleagues and patrons alike. Her dedication to her work was matched only by her love for her family.
She is survived by her cherished son, Willie A. (Nancy) Davis, Jr., and her beloved daughters, Regina (Richard) Boone and Bridget Davis. Marie also leaves behind her dear brother, Pastor Emmitt A. Jarman, Jr., and her sister, Berniece Hodges, who will carry her memory in their hearts.
Marie was preceded in death by her father, Emmitt Jarman, Sr., her mother, Mary L. Eddie, and her late husband, Pastor Willie A. Davis, Sr., who were each significant in shaping the values she lived by.
Marie Davis's life will be honored and celebrated at the First Missionary Baptist Church, located at 513 North Matubba Street in Aberdeen, Mississippi. Family and friends are invited to a visitation on Friday, February 20, 2026, starting at 5:00 PM until 6:00 PM at First MB Church, followed by a Celebration of Life service on Saturday, February 21, 2026, at 11:00 AM at First Missionary Baptist Church.
Her presence will be deeply missed, but her spirit will forever remain in the hearts of her family and all who knew her, as she touched many lives with her kindness and generosity.
