Suzanne Davis Obituary

Suzanne Shanteau Davis

07/24/1946 - 02/07/26

Our mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend passed away on Saturday, February 7, in Portland, Oregon.

Suzanne is survived by her sons, Steven Walter Davis and Christopher Todd Davis; her "daughter," Lisa Davis, wife of Christopher; her grandson, Joshua; and her granddaughter, Lauren, who were the light of her life.

She is also survived by her brother, David Shanteau (JoAnne); her sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Gloria Jean and John McGuiness; Lois and Deane Wiethe; six nieces; two nephews; four great-nephews; and one great-niece.

Suzanne was born in Toledo, Ohio, to her parents, Hilda and Noble Shanteau, who preceded her in death, as did her sister, Darlene Whitaker, and three nephews, Timothy, Tony, and Thomas Baumker. Suzanne married Walter Davis Jr. in 1965, and divorced in 2006. She accepted the Lord Jesus Christ into her life at the age of 10, and God became her mission in life.

Suzanne was an LPN at Mercy Hospital in Toledo, Ohio, and attended the University of Toledo, where she received her RN diploma. Suzanne and her family moved to Portland, Oregon, in 1978.

A Celebration of Life will be held on March 16, at 11:00 a.m., at Beaverton Foursquare Church, in Beaverton, Oregon. Contributions may be made to Samaritan's Purse at samaritanspurse.org.

Suzanne felt deeply blessed by the patients and families she cared for throughout the years, by her circle of friends, and by the joy of her family.

I went to school with Susie at Point Place Jr High and Woodward High School Class of 1964. So sorry to hear of her passing. We were able to reconnect at our 30th HS reunion. Susie was always joyful and so warm and caring. Prayers of comfort for her family.
