Benny Ray Humphreys, known to family and friends as Ben, passed away on September 27, 2025, at the age of 77. Born in Morrilton, Arkansas on June 5, 1948, Ben lived a life marked by curiosity, creativity, and service.

Ben proudly served in the United States Air Force during a time of global challenge and change. His service took him around the world, including deployments to Indochina, Korea, and Vietnam. He was stationed at Travis AFB in California and received an honorable discharge after serving with distinction as part of the 376th Strategic Aerospace Wing (SAC).

Outside of his military service, Ben was a man of many interests and talents. He loved working on his Lotus and other cars, and could often be found in the woodshop working on his many creations. Ben had a passion for martial arts, enjoyed digging for crystals, and was a fan of old movies-especially The Lord of the Rings trilogy. His adventurous spirit also led him to travel widely throughout his life.

Ben made a fulfilling career as an Airlines and Aviation Professional, notably with Bombardier, where his expertise and dedication contributed significantly to the field. Alongside his aviation work, he was also a skilled professional woodworker, bringing the same precision and care to his craft as he did in his career, creating beautiful and lasting pieces by hand.

Ben is survived by his nephew Matt Pye and wife Heidi, his niece Christyl Rowland and husband Chris, and his brother-in-law Art Pye. He also leaves behind great-nieces Alexis Rowland, Aleena Rowland, and Madelyn Pye, and great-nephews Nick Pye and Hunter Pye. He will be deeply missed by many cousins and close friends.

Ben was preceded in death by his parents, James "Bob" Humphreys and Lurlene Humphreys, and by his beloved sister, Carol Pye.

Ben's legacy is one of independence, intellect, and deep dedication - to his country, his craft, and the loved ones who meant so much to him. He will be remembered fondly for his kindness, his stories, and the quiet strength with which he lived his life.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 2nd, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Caruth Village Funeral Home in Hot Springs Village.

Graveside service will take place Friday, October 3rd, at 2 p.m. at Nooner Cemetery in Hollis, Arkansas. Reverend Richard Humphreys will officiate.

Pallbearers will be Rodney Holland, Darrell Humphreys, Monty Crawford, Greg Crawford, Hunter Pye, and Nick Pye.

Honorary pallbearers include Roy Richardson and Billy Storment.
