Berlin Junior Oldman was born on September 16, 1940 in Marked Tree to Retha (Smith) Oldman and Burl Oldman. In his younger years Junior spent a lot of time with Burl in the logging camps around Eastern Arkansas. He learned how to operate equipment and drive trucks at a very early age and often said that he started working at age 6. He didn’t care much for schoolwork and dropped out before completing eighth grade. Using that time, instead, to chase women, play pool, and hang out in juke joints. Junior loved road trips and once walked back to Marked Tree from Arizona, after getting stranded there. He spent many years in Texas doing construction work but made his way back to Marked Tree in the mid 80s. Always a jokester, he enjoyed sticking his false teeth out, flipping his eyelids, and pretending to spit in your hair. Later in life he moved to Portland Tennessee into a senior apartment building where he was the life of the party, loved keeping the rumor mill going, playing cornhole and bingo. His sudden heart, liver, and kidney failure shocked his family. He is survived by his daughters who faithfully cared for him during his last days on this earth Bridgett Oldman and LeErin Leath. Sons in law- Bill Johnson and Josh Leath Five grandchildren- Jody (Lindsey) Dement, Vikki Kay Braun, John (Candice) Poole, Harley Leath, and Kennedy Leath Seven great grandchildren- Zoey, Riley, Lilly, Daygon, Zane, Tucker, and Caroline.
