Bernadette Olive Coperich

Bernadette Olive "Pat" Coperich (neé Donlon), cherished wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister, passed away peacefully at her home in Hendersonville on February 14, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. Born on December 29, 1939, in Kilkenny, Ireland, Pat graced this world for 86 years with her Irish wit, unwavering kindness, and dedication to caring for others.

Pat devoted her life to the service of others as a nurse-midwife, practicing in hospitals across England and New York. Her compassion and expertise brought comfort and joy to many families as she guided new lives into the world.

Beyond her professional achievements, Pat was a woman of many interests and passions. She loved to read and travel, collecting keepsakes and enjoying the music and food of other cultures. Her commitment to her community was evident through her volunteer work with the Women's Guild at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and her various roles at Pardee Hospital. A devout member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and the former Polish American Club, Pat's faith and cultural ties were an integral part of her identity.

Pat is preceded in death by her beloved parents, John and Bridget Dillon Donlon. She leaves behind a legacy of love through her surviving family: her devoted husband of 56 years, Franklin Coperich, whom she wed on October 29, 1969; her children, Karen Branch (Darren), Meghan Koziol (Steven), and Daniel Coperich (Amanda); her treasured grandchildren, Emma Lochner (Erik), Maya, Kyra, Anya, Ryan, Joshua, and Gavin; her great-grandson, Flynn; her sister, Helen; and her brothers, Vincent and Aubrey.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 4:00 PM on Wednesday, February 18, 2026, at Forest Lawn Funeral Home, located at 538 Tracy Grove Road, Hendersonville, NC 28792.

A funeral Mass will be held at a later date.
