Bernadine "Bernie" Berry, age 82, of Wisconsin Dells, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully on Monday, September 15, 2025, at St. Clare Hospital in Baraboo, Wisconsin, from complications of a hiatal hernia. She is now at home with her Lord and Savior.

Interment will take place at a later date at the Lithuanian National Cemetery in Justice, Illinois.

Bernadine was born on November 4, 1942, in Chicago, Illinois, to Edward and Joann (Obecunas) Bending. At the age of 40, Bernie was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis, yet she continued to work at Western Electric (AT&T) until her retirement. She then made her home in Wisconsin Dells, where she was happiest. Despite the challenges of her illness, Bernie was known for always asking about others first. She had a bubbly personality, a caring heart, and a wonderful sense of humor.

Bernie found joy in her farm, caring for her animals, and spending time with her beloved cats and dogs. She was a devoted member of Davis Corners United Methodist Church and actively participated in the ladies' group.

She was preceded in death by her infant son, Michael; parents, Edward and Joann; sister, Marian (Daniel); nephew, Michael; and brother-in-law, William.

Bernie is survived by her loving partner of 47 years, Virgil; sister, Ruth; longtime friend and caregiver, Dani; many nieces and nephews; and her faithful dog, Sassy.
