Bernadine M. DeMent (Farnaus)
Age 84, of Frankfort, passed away Sunday, April 20th, 2025 at Northwestern Medicine Palos Hospital in Palos Heights.
Bernadine is survived by her loving family, children, Karen (Scott) McGinnis, Kevin (Kimberlee) Welch, Brian (Theo Grigorov) Welch, siblings, Norbert (Jacqueline) Farnaus, Ronald (Susan) Farnaus, grandchildren, Colleen (Brian) Ritter, Erin (Kyle) Janozik, Kelly (Matthew) Weber, Sean (Terica) Walker, Shannon Welch, Kevin (Tiffany) Welch, Tyler Welch, Connor Welch, Kaylee Welch, Laura Welch, Adam Welch, Aiden Welch, great grandchildren, Nora Ritter, Madelyn Ritter, Isaiah Walker, Sarah Walker and beloved pet King Louie.
Bernadine was preceded in death by her parents, Alexander & Jean Farnaus (Bednowicz) and husband Robert DeMent.
Bernadine was a former member of South Suburban Chicago Newcomers and South Baldwin Newcomers in Gulf Shores Alabama. She greatly enjoyed golfing and participated in many golfing leagues over the years. Bernadine especially loved golfing with her granddaughters and traveling with her son Brian.
Family will receive friends at Kurtz Memorial Chapel, 65 Old Frankfort Way, Frankfort IL 60423 on Wednesday, April 23rd, 20205 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Funeral service, Thursday, April 24th, 2025 at 11:00 AM at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 19515 115th Avenue, Mokena IL 60448. Interment, Good Shepherd Catholic Cemetery, Orland Park IL. In lieu of flowers, donations to PAWS of Tinley Park would be greatly appreciated.
