Bernadine Frances Kohout

September 5, 1937 - December 7, 2025

Bernadine Frances Kohout was born September 5, 1937, to Joe A. and Eva (Nemec) Kohout in Seward County and passed away on December 7, 2025, in David City, Nebraska at the age of 88 years, 3 months and 2 days.

She was raised on farms in Seward County, Colfax County, and Butler County. Her first communion was at Wilson Church in Colfax County. She attended country schools in Colfax and Seward counties then graduated from Dwight Assumption in 1955.

Bernadine was a homemaker and spent her life caring for her family. She was a member of Catholic Workman for over 70 years.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Joe F. Kohout; infant brother, Lawrence Kohout; and sister, Arlene E. Andel.

Bernadine is survived by her nephew, Marvin Andel of David City; niece, Sharon Smith of David City; great nieces and nephews, April Smith, Adam Smith, Sarah (Dave) Nedrig, Valerie (Anton) Engel; and great great-nieces and nephews, Joshua, Amelia, Donavin, Ziva, Evelyn Frances, and Aydon.

Family will receive friends from 9:30 to 11:00 a.m. on Friday, December 12, 2025, at Zabka-Perdue Funeral Home, Dwight. A rosary will be held at 11:00 a.m. followed by a prayer service at 11:30 a.m. also at Zabka-Perdue Funeral Home, Dwight with Father Raymond Jansen officiating. Graveside and Interment will follow at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Cemetery, Bee, Nebraska.

Memorial contributions may be made to family for future designations.
