Cuba– Bernadine Teresa Lijewski “Loving Mother & Grandmother”
Bernadine T. Lijewski of Rawson Road passed away on Tuesday, October 1, 2024, at Cuba Memorial Hospital following an illness.
Bernadine was born on April 9, 1940, in Buffalo and was the daughter of Eugene and Viola Wyrwa Olejniczak. In 1963 she married her loving husband, Eugene J. Lijewski who predeceased her on July 1, 2023.
Bernadine was a 1958 graduate of O’Hern High School. She worked as a file clerk for a number of years and moved to Lyndon in 2001. Bernadine devoted her life as a full-time mother. She also enjoyed bird watching and raising her Sheltie Collies. Her favorite time of year was springtime, she enjoyed the fresh flowers and butterflies.
Bernadine is survived by her two daughters: Janice B. Lijewski of Lyndon and Julie M. (Rev. David) Delafield of Wayland, three grandchildren: Jenny, Joshua, and Anna Delafield, a sister, Barbara Jean Windnagle of Lancaster, NY., her aunts, Marion Heist and her family, Gloria Sperro and her sons, Joseph and John, uncle Ed and his daughters, Diana Wyrwa and Mary Ann Bowman, God Daughter, Cynthia Skrzycki, special cousins: Larry Skrzycki, Adrianne Kusmierczyak, and Marcia Borowski, many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Bernadine was predeceased by her parents and her loving husband Eugene.
Friends will be received at the Letro-McIntosh-Spink Funeral Home, Inc., 24 Genesee Pkwy, Cuba. on Saturday, October 5, 2024, from 11:00 to 1:00pm at which time a funeral service will be held by the Rev. David S. Delafield. Online condolences may be made at www.LetroMcIntoshSpinkFuneralHome.com.
