Bernard Altmann

Bernard C. "Bernie" Altmann passed away on Friday September 5, 2025 at Hampton Manor Memory Care, Cape Coral, Florida. He was born on August 20, 1934 in Easton, PA. He graduated from Easton Catholic High School in 1954. He was married to Arlene (McNulty) Altmann for 66 years, until her death in February 2021. He was the owner of Easton Optical Company, Easton PA for 30 years, retiring in 1992. He owned numerous real estate properties in the Easton area. Bernie and Arlene were avid golfers and wintered in the Fort Myers area since 1988. They moved permanently to Gateway in Fort Myers, FL in 2000.
Bernie is survived by his four children: Jeanette Gibbs (Stephen), Richard Altmann (Bonnie), Bernard Altmann II (Kathy) and Doreen McNulty. He is also survived by 5 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his parents: John C and Anna M (Tate) Altmann and siblings: Theresa Rossetti and Florian (Bud).
Bernie was a member of St John XXIII Catholic Church, Ft Myers. Bernie was a long-time volunteer at St John XXIII Thrift Store. While living in Easton, he belonged to St Jane Frances De Chantel Church and was a member at Harkers Hollow Golf Club and later, Northampton Country Club.
