Bernard H. Borgmeyer, age 90 years, of Eldon, MO, passed away on August 4, 2025. He was born on March 2, 1935, in Taos, MO, the son of late Frank W. and Caroline A Borgmeyer. He was united in marriage on July 3,1974, to Billie Sue Neeley.
Bernie attended Fatima High School and later received his GED from Lincoln Lab High School in Jefferson City, MO. He joined the United States Army in 1953 and served during the Korean War and the Viet Nam War before retiring as a Master Sergeant in 1976.
Bernie later became an owner-operator for Riss International of Kansas City and Dart Transit of Eagan, MN, for 19 years. He was a member and Director of VFW Post 2442 in Eldon and a member of the U.S. Army Non-Commissioned Officers Association and AMVETS.
He is survived by two grandsons, Lucas Borgmeyer and Wesley Borgmeyer; siblings, Betty Cassmeyer, Fran Glover, Thomas Borgmeyer and Jane Hall; his step-children; Gary Neeley, Michael Neeley, and Lisa Munoz; and a special friend, Bella Steen.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Billie Sue; his son, Ronald Borgmeyer and siblings; Theresa DeLorey, Mary Stuckenschneider, Charles Borgmeyer and Ann Kolb; step-children, Theresa Seabough, Paul Neeley and Larry Neeley.
Friends will be received from 10:00 am to 11:00 am on Wednesday, August 13, 2025 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Memorial Mass will be held at 11:00 am, Wednesday, August 13, 2025 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
A private interment will follow at a later date with full military honors at Fort Leonard Wood Missouri Veterans Cemetery, Waynesville, Missouri.
Expressions of sympathy may be made to the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Eldon, MO
